Soup: The Audacity of Truth

soupsoup:

There has been a surprising trend of outright calling a lie a lie when told by politicians in this leg of the campaign. Hopefully this trend continues as the DNC begins this week, as we’re sure to hear as many distortions, half-truths and outright lies coming from the other side of the…

I’m going to have a photo in this along with many of my Phoot Camp friends. I’ll be there friday at 7. Come join us.

Photoville 2012: A Photographic Village Built with Shipping Containers
Brooklyn-born and bred art cooperative United Photo Industries have a treat in store for any and all photography enthusiasts who happen to find themselves in New York between June 22nd and July 1st. In partnership with many different galleries, vendors and national institutions, United Photo Industries is putting together a photographic village it’s calling Photoville — and it’ll be made almost entirely out of shipping containers.

The project’s ultimate goal is to help “create an extraordinary global community of artists,” and they’re hoping to achieve this by bringing as many of those artists together as they can. If you can make it, the experience should be more than worth it. Attractions will include exhibits in shipping containers and pop-up tents, a dog run complete with a “Paws Wall of Fame,” and even a beer garden where you can enjoy “chilled brews and artisanal snacks.”
All evidence points to this being a pretty incredible get together of artists and photographers. So whether you wanna go to soak up the culture or you want to build up a network in the photography community, don’t wind up the guy or gal stuck at home dreaming of life among the shipping containers.
